Charity set up to help flood victims facing its own crisis
AN Eden-based charity which was formed in the wake of the 2015 Storm Desmond floods could close by the end of the month unless it can raise £25,000.
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT UK), which was formerly known as Eden Flood Volunteers, needs to raise around £218,000 every year just to cover its running costs.
Since it was first founded it has supported more than 20,000 homeowners and businesses across the country. However, its current funding stream from Cumbria Community Foundation is due to end.
