Date: Tuesday 10th July 2018

POLICE have released CCTV footage following reports of an attempted burglary in Penrith.

Last Wednesday at Netherend Road between 2-55pm and 3-25pm, entry was gained through an unsecured back door, though nothing was stolen.

The suspect is described as a while male, about 5ft 5in tall, roughly 45 to 50-years-old, of stocky build, clean shaven and has short dark hair, which is thinning on top. He was wearing a short-sleeved white shirt with black or navy knee length shorts and black shoes without socks. He was carrying a white A5 sized envelope.

Investigating officer PC Gillian Eilbeck said: "With the weather set to remain warm over the next few weeks, I would like to remind residents to make sure they lock their doors when going in and out of the house, no matter for how brief a period."
