Skelton back at the helm with Reds

Date: Thursday 3rd January 2019

NEW Workington Reds manager Gavin Skelton has not ruled out the possibility of pulling on his boots again as the Evo-stik League side bid to climb out of the Premier Division relegation zone.

Appleby-based Skelton this week began a third spell with the Borough Park club following the departure of Dave Hewson and was in charge for Reds’ 2-1 defeat at home to Stalybridge Celtic on New Year’s Day.

He left his job as professional development phase coach with Carlisle United following negotiations over the Christmas period.

“I’m excited by the challenge and look forward to returning to a club where I feel I have strong ties. Everything has happened so quickly and I cannot wait to get started,” he said.
