Sarah takes Nine Standards honours on home ground
INTERNATIONAL mountain runner Sarah Tunstall was first woman home in the annual New Year’s Day Nine Standards fell race which starts and finishes in her home town of Kirkby Stephen.
Sarah, who is a Kendal AC member, completed the race in a time of 59 minutes, eight seconds, to place her seventh overall in a field of 133.
Race winner — in a time of 54.55 — was Ben Riddell, of Salford Harriers and AC.
