Players remain loyal to club as “big season” beckons
PENRITH Rugby Club first team players have “remained loyal to the club” said head coach Dave Preston this week as training for the Winters Park steps up a gear ahead of the new season.
All of last season’s first team squad have opted to stay with the club — despite approaches from elsewhere — and Penrith have also signed Nathan Wooff from Kendal.
“I know some of our players have been approached from clubs in the county and further afield as well, but they have remained loyal to their club and their mates,” said Preston.
“We’re always on the lookout to strengthen our squad and have been lucky enough to obtain the services of Nathan Wooff, a threequarter from Kendal. We are looking for him to make a big impact, not only with his playing ability but his experience of playing a league higher.
