Glittering win for Emma
EDEN-based jockey Emma Sayer was rewarded with a diamond necklace worth £5,000 after a sparkling winning ride at Cartmel on Saturday in the only handicap hurdle of the season confined to women riders.
On board Beeno, trained by her uncle, Ken Slack, at Stoneriggs, Hilton, and owned by her grandfather, Arthur Slack, 25-year-old Emma romped to a 14-length victory in a competitive five-runner event which included two representatives from Jimmy Moffatt’s Cartmel stable and a runner from Dan Skelton’s Warwickshire-based yard.
Provided by Banks Lyon Jewellers Ltd., of Lancaster, the necklace Emma won is an 18ct white gold marquise cut diamond cluster pendant and she was thrilled to be presented with such a prize.
