Blues add another new face to squad

Date: Thursday 31st January 2019

PENRITH AFC have added another new face to their first team squad.

The Blues announced today that 19-year-old Matthew Clarke is making the switch to Frenchfield Park, having previously played at Kendal Town.

A left-sided player, Clarke is one of several recent additions to Andy Coyles’ Northern League Division I squad following the recent arrivals of striker Martyn Coleman, defender Tyler Bowman and goalkeeper Jonny Jamieson — those three having returned after previous spells at the club.

Penrith also announced this morning the return of midfielder Ben Jackson, who has dual registration with Westmorland League side Appleby.

Coyles said of Clarke: “I’m delighted to have such a young, energetic and promising player with huge amounts of talent.

“I’ve been inquiring about Matt for a number of months now and I’m delighted to finally have him with the club.”

Subject to weather, Penrith’s next Northern League Division I match is on Saturday at home to Guisborough Town (3pm kick-off).
