FORMER Penrith and Upper Eden player Will Addison has been named as the new captain of Aviva Premiership Rugby side Sale Sharks.

The 24-year-old, from Kings Meaburn, made his debut for the Sharks in 2011 and has since gone on to make 97 appearances, scoring 149 points.

He was in great form last season before picking up a foot injury at Saracens which ruled him out for the rest of the year. Before his injury he was playing some of the best rugby of his career and captained the side on a number of occasions during regular captain Josh Beaumont’s absence.
