90th minute defeat “a tough one to take”
PENRITH AFC manager Andy Coyles admitted Penrith’s dramatic 4-3 defeat to Hebburn Town was “a tough one to take”.
He watched his spirited side battle back from 3-1 down to draw level against one of the Northern League Division I title contenders, Hebburn Town, at Frenchfield Park on Saturday.
However, the Blues were left empty-handed as the visitors scored a dramatic 90th minute goal to claim all three points. It means Penrith are still searching for a first league win of the season despite steadily improving performances.
“That’s a tough one to take against a team who are up there with the best,” Coyles told the Herald afterwards. “I think if they win their games in hand they go third or fourth, and to come back the way we did from 3-1 down to 3-3 with only minutes to go is a true test of character for the lads.”
