£4,000 raised as teams celebrate 40 years of rivalry
AT least £4,000 was raised for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation at a match between a combined Keswick and Corstorphine team and a Penrith RUFC XV, played at Winters Park on Saturday.
The foundation, set up by former Lions and Scotland lock Doddie Weir, raises funds for research into motor neurone disease with which he was diagnosed last year.
The match celebrated 40 tour matches between Keswick RFC and Edinburgh-based Corstorphine Cougars.
Raging Bull Sportswear donated shirts for the Corwick (Corstorphine/Keswick) team which were later auctioned at an evening dinner, raising more than £2,000.
