Ladybird, or person bird?
Sir, On Saturday my husband and I went to Dufton show and enjoyed all on offer, plus it was a lovely sunny day in sublime surroundings.
We were very impressed with the quality in the industrial tent but were surprised to find entries entitled “One decorated gingerbread person”.
Surely this is political correctness gone mad. A gingerbread man is a biscuit, for goodness sake.
It isn’t going to be offended, or take somebody to court, it is just going to be eaten. Will we get to the stage where a ladybird has to be called a “person bird”? Yours etc,
