Walker suffers serious head injuries

A WALKER was put into an induced coma after she fell about 50ft down a rocky slope leading to the Borrowdale Valley on Friday. Emergency services were called at about 3pm to help the woman, who was in her 50s, and had suffered serious head injuries.

The Great North air ambulance and Keswick mountain rescue team attended. The woman was taken to hospital in Preston where she arrived in a “stable” condition.
