Search called off
A SEARCH in the Bassenthwaite and Isel areas for a paraglider who was reported to be in difficulties, was called off on Thursday after no evidence was found there had been an incident.
Cumbria police said a search involving officers, a helicopter, drone and mountain rescue personnel was launched after a member of the public reported seeing a paraglider descending in the vicinity of The Lakes Distillery.
A spokesman said there were no missing person reports which could be related to the incident.
However, the police say they would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed anything or has information. They are also keen to speak to anyone who was paragliding in the area.
