Officers’ jobs at risk inEden Council restructure
EDEN councillors have approved a senior management review, details of which have yet to be made public.
A report by the authority’s chief executive, Rose Rouse, was considered after members of the press and public were excluded from last week’s meeting of the full council. It was exempt from public discussion because it related to specific individuals.
All 10 senior management positions, including that of deputy chief executive, are at risk of redundancy as part of Mrs Rouse’s review which was initiated following her appointment in July last year.
An Eden Council spokesman said: “The Part II item was approved by council. As the restructure plan is being progressed with all of the officers involved, the council is unable to make any further comment at this time.
“Full details of the council’s senior management structure will be published once the review is complete.”
It is understood 10 new but completely different roles are being created in a reorganised senior management framework. The changes, if introduced, would be the first among the council’s bosses since 2010.
