Capacity crowd at sale
ST. Augustine’s Church, Alston, held a coffee morning and table top sale in the masonic hall.
There was a capacity crowd and stalls from other churches, including St. Jude’s, Knarsdale; St. Mary and St. Patrick, Lambley; and Alston Moor Methodist.
On the door and selling tickets for the 23-prize raffle was Gill Rogers, Annabelle Ellison sold cakes, Chris Gunnion took charge of the lucky dip and Mary Elliot hosted a game of dexterity. There was also bric-a-brac and a wool stall.
Marion Harrison and Elizabeth Walton served hot drinks. A total of £230 was raised for church funds.
