88-year-old struck by car
AN Eden woman aged 88 remains in a “serious” condition in hospital after being struck by a car in Penrith on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at 9-50am in Bridge Lane when she was crossing the road from the hospital towards B&M Bargains.
Police say she was struck by a black Ford Focus and was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, having suffered a serious head injury. “The 26-year-old local man driving the Ford Focus was uninjured,” said a police spokesman.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to contact them on 101.
