£7m road project complete

Date: Friday 18th August 2017

A PROJECT costing £7 million and designed to keep drivers safely on the move along the A66 at Bassenthwaite Lake was completed this week.

Major engineering improvements, including raising carriageways near and alongside the lake to improve severe weather resilience, have been carried out. Highways England project manager Peter Gee said: “We’d like to thank drivers and other local people for their patience over the last 11 months with temporary traffic lights and overnight carriageway closures.”
